ABOUT Altran
Altran is the European leader in high technology and innovation consulting. Its expertise lies in the entire range of engineering and consulting: electronics, information technology, quality and organisation. Altran consultants assist corporations worldwide throughout the innovation process, from technological and market monitoring to applied fundamental research and preparation for production right through to manufacturing processes.
Built on a unique model, then decentralised to give free rein to initiative, Altran federates a network of companies working in three complementary fields:
- technology and innovation consulting (accounting for nearly half the turnover),
- organisation and information systems consulting (a third of the turnover),
- strategy and management consulting.
In 2005, the Group's turnover reached €1.434 billion, with over 17,000 employees, in the 20 top countries. Altran recruited more than 4,000 people in 2005, has 150 operational subsidiaries worldwide and 53% of turnover is achieved outside France.
Altran's expertise and knowledge can contribute to increased European competitiveness and innovation and help the EU to achieve the Lisbon Agenda goals of becoming the most competitive knowledge based society. Through its network of partner companies and its Foundation, Altran promotes technological development and innovation for the benefit of society.

ALTRAN FOUNDATION
The Altran Foundation, Technological Innovation for the General Good
As a partner in innovation to its customers, the Altran Group plays the same role in the company through the Altran Foundation for Innovation. The most conspicuous of the Group's sponsorship activities, the Foundation promotes technical, scientific and/or technological innovation as a civic commitment. Now ten years old, the Altran Foundation continues to cut a pioneering path in which innovation is at the service of mankind.
Each year the Foundation selects a new theme in line with a major issue of society. An invitation for entries is put out worldwide and a short list subsequently drawn up by the Altran consultants. A panel of judges made up of recognised figures, scientific, political or academic, then assesses the projects proposed by the finalists prior to awarding the Altran Foundation Prize for Innovation.
