CANEUS International is a non-profit European/US/Canadian member directed organization serving the needs of the aeronautics, space and defence communities by establishing global public/private partnerships within the aerospace community. The biennial CANEUS Conference is the world's premier international forum devoted to fostering international partnerships aimed at effective transitioning of aerospace technologies from a mostly conceptual stage to system-level implementations.

The CANEUS Conference represents a unique and ambitious attempt to bring together the developer, user and funding communities involved in Aerospace technology development, with representation from key organizations within the US, Canada, Europe and Asia.

The CANEUS Conference represents a unique and ambitious attempt to bring together the developer, user and funding communities involved in Aerospace technology development, with representation from key organizations within the US, Canada, Europe and Asia.

The major objectives of the conference are:

  • Provide environment for international networking, linkages and collaborations through consortia, workshops aimed at the implementation of new technologies and capabilities into the aerospace sector.
  • Define mechanisms and structures to facilitate international aerospace cooperation in order to promote individual competitiveness and innovation.
  • Identify near term actions to demonstrate the open business model.
  • Develop the priorities for Framework Programme 8 in the area of aerospace to enable closer collaboration between international partners.
  • Understand the dynamics of precompetitive, collaborative, global R&D and to come close to the policy prioritization process.
  • Bring together leading policy- and decision makers and industry leadership to discuss research priorities, joint funding, and joint EU-US R&D programming in these areas.
  • Bring together the developers, users and funding communities involved in aerospace MNT technology development from within the US, Europe, Canada and Asia.

The format will consist of a 2 day Conference in November 2010 covering the topics related to the Aerospace, security and defence industry, as well as key satellite technologies. Policy- and decision-makers together with industry will get the opportunity to build the partnership collaboration altogether in order to realize the possible cooperation in the future.

  • Mechanisms for International Cooperation in aerospace R&D, FP8 as part of a global driver.
  • Development of assessment criteria for key capability technologies.

Focus workshops:

  • Security of space-based infrastructures and utilities.
  • Satellites for intelligent surveillance and border security.
  • Aerospace technology for crisis management.
  • Security systems integration, interconnectivity and interoperability.
  • Shared Space Based Communications Infrastructure.

The speakers at Conference sessions and Workshop panels are program leaders, key scientists, engineers, decision makers, policy makers, and end-users of the aerospace industry. Each speaker at the conference is essentially a leader in the field, describing his or her organization's work in the context of the broader global picture.
